Farm Tours
Due to a staffing shortage, we are not able to offer farm tours at this time. We hope to bring them back soon. Read below for details if you are interested for the future.
Our self-service farm store is open to the public 24 hours/day, every day. Most of the time you can see the cows from the farm store’s driveway. If you are interested in interacting further with the animals and learning more about the farm, reach out to us about scheduling a farm tour.
Tour Options
Grazing and Poultry Tour: Meet the herd of cattle and learn about rotational grazing, see the meat chickens (or turkeys, depending on what time of year you come), visit the flock of laying hens, and learn how all of these species work together to benefit the land while producing great food! This tour is only available May through November.
Milking Tour: Meet the cows up close, watch them getting milked, try to milk one by hand if you want, see the milkhouse and parlor and learn the process of how the milk gets from cow to consumer, and get some calf snuggles!
Tour Details
Each type of tour lasts 30 – 45 minutes. A tour costs $75, which is a flat rate for any number of people. Payment must be received at least 10 days before the scheduled tour. We accept cash or check only. You can leave your payment in the cash box of the farm store (write your name and what you're paying for on the clipboard) or mail payment to 163 Phillies Bridge Rd, New Paltz, NY 12561.
To schedule a tour, email us at [email protected]. Please give as much advanced notice as possible. (While we love sharing the farm with others on tours, running a farm is a very demanding job and our schedules are hectic!) We WILL NOT schedule any tour with less than 10 day’s notice. Thank you for understanding!
Please note that availability can not be guaranteed and that information here is subject to change. If there are any changes to the details listed here, that will be shared with you when you contact us to schedule a tour.
A Note to Journalists and Artists
If you are a journalist who would like to interview one of the farmers, or a photographer or filmmaker who would like to visit the farm to access subject matter, please read the following paragraph in full for our policy:
First of all, thank you so much for your interest in our farm. If you would like to schedule a phone interview or a visit, we require that you schedule and pay for a farm tour as outlined above. We know this might sound harsh, especially if your resulting piece might be used to promote the farm, but in order for us to survive in the extraordinarily difficult business, we need to set up certain boundaries. As farmers, we have to spend most of our waking hours working, and we do not get vacations or even an occasional day off. This is not a complaint; we love what we do! But the point is that our time is extremely precious, and as much as we would like to support you in your work, we simply cannot afford to give up our time for free. As stated above, a tour lasts up to 45 minutes. You can schedule as many as you need, and your tour does not need to fit into one of the categories described above. (In other words, we can tailor your time to your specific need.) Please email us with any questions or to schedule a tour. Thank you for your understanding!
